As Time for Phonics is a complete phonics programme, we have provided most things that you need to teach each lesson including the lesson, and any resources needed with the lesson (e.g. flash cards, e-books, downloadable books and activities).
We recommend downloading some of the regularly used resources for each phase including:
- The phonics mat for the phase you’re working on
- The flashcards for the graphemes in that phase - these are also useful to have ready on your phonics display to refer to
- Tricky word and decodable word cards for that phase
- The letter or digraph rhyme cards or posters to have on display as a handy reference point
- The phonics code chart (this is for your reference, not for the children)
- Our printable phoneme frames
- Trash and treasure print outs
- The handwriting sheets for Phases 2 and 3
- The alphabet display
Other Resources that might be helpful include:
- A feely bag and/or hat
- Phonics fans
- Magnetic letters
- Hoops
- A whistle or tambourine
- A timer
- A teacher whiteboard + pen
- Objects beginning or containing the phase 2 and 3 graphemes
- Card and a sharpie to write captions and words out
- A music player
- A skipping rope and some blue material
- Red and green card
