Studio Boards and Slideshows are perfect to assign to students for homework or to work on independently.
Once a board or slideshow is shared, you can click the Assign button located in the upper right corner to send to pupils:
- Step 1 - Name the assignment and give student instructions.
- Step 2 - select the date you want the content to appear in the student's accounts as well as the date for when content or work should be completed by
- Step 3 - select the class (or grouping of students) to which the content should be assigned
- Step 4 - confirm the settings of your assignment and click okay
Once a Studio project is assigned, teachers can access the results from the Assignments dashboard which is accessible from the main Discovery Education menu.
If the project has a quiz embedded in it, it will be listed as a Studio Quiz. Otherwise, it will appear as a Slideshow or Board.
Students wll see any assignments set by them on their Discovery Education homepage.
When a board or slideshow is assigned to a student that contains only text and resources (no quizzes), the students simply work through the content and once finished, they click Mark as Complete to let you know they are finished with that assignment.
If a board or slideshow that contains a quiz is assigned to pupils, they will work through the content and answer the question(s) provided. Once they are finished, they click Submit Assignment to return it to you for marking.
Once assignments have been completed, the teacher can access the results through the Assignments list.
Studio Quizzes can be marked through the Dashboard.
Single and Multiple Answer questions are automatically graded.
Short Answer quizzes can be marked by the teacher using the embedded rubric. The teacher can also leave comments.
Pupils can access their mark by clicking on the Done tile on their Assignments page and then finding the assignment from the table.
