There are many types of resources to help with lesson planning and learning in the classroom.
All of our resources are arranged based on Key Stage and subject.
Within these sections, the content is arranged by the type of resource.
Topics - these are collections of resources where you can find all the content you need to teach a curriculum objective or topic. Examples of topics include Second World War, Evolution and Inheritance, Forces and Magnets, or Diwali.
Videos - there are a huge variety of quality videos available on a multitude of topics. All have been carefully curated to ensure that the subject matter is suitable for the age group selected.

Interactive activities - these are ready-made quizzes and games which can be used to support learning in the classroom or assigned to the children's accounts for homework.
Activities will load in full-screen for easier viewing.
Activities do not provide scores and results are not indicated in the assignment dashboard.
Boards - Boards are topic presentations which include lesson starters and activities. They are all created in our Studio tool meaning that you can edit and adapt to meet your specific needs
Worksheets - These are text resources which include worksheets, frameworks and printable activities.
These activities may also include Augmented Reality resources. By downloading partner apps onto tablets, students can explore items, locations or processes in AR.
Images - search our huge bank of age-appropriate images to build your own lesson Board or for the children to use in their own projects.
Audio - You can also find audio clips which can be used by children and teachers to bring presentations and assignments to life.
Assemblies - within the Curriculum Collections area, a number of assemblies have been designed so that they can be used by teachers or children leading a class assembly. A selection of videos have been curated to encourage discussion or contemplation of moral, personal or social issues.
News - Discovery Education Espresso news, produced in collaboration with ITN Productions is specifically tailored for use in primary schools. It gives children a safe, age-appropriate way to find out what's happening in the world using real events and footage. There are short daily news videos, weekly round ups and quizzes to keep your students informed about current events. Find out more here.
Educational Programmes - In the Curriculum Collections area you can also select age-appropriate programmes covering a wide range of topics.
For younger students, Animal Moves combines music, movement and imagination as they imitate the movement of animals.
The Earth to Luna series of 10-minute videos introduce younger students to investigations and explorations of a scientific or geographic basis.
Muddy Maths and The Number Crew are great for presenting numeracy and mathematical topics in an engaging way.
Whereas, older students will enjoy the 20 minute STEM-based videos from N*GEN.
