Calendar Picks is a bank of resources which allows you to plan ahead to the events and themes coming up over the school year.
Calendar Picks are interactive and informative boards, comprising of ready-to-use lessons and activities around some of our most popular classroom topics.
You will find Calendar Picks linked on the homepage of each Key Stage content in Espresso.
There will also be a summary of the upcoming Calendar Picks lessons at the bottom of the home page for each Key Stage.
On opening the Calendar Picks page, you will be shown the content for events in the current month.
You can also plan ahead for the coming months by selecting the month tab under the banner.
On opening one of the Calendar Picks lessons, you will be given various options:
Present - This will open the lesson in a full-screen version for use at the front of the class
Assign - You can assign the lesson to specific pupils, a group, or your whole class.
Share - There are several ways to share content, including by link, Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams.
Add to Favourites - Add the lesson to your personal Favourites list which is accessible from any page by clicking on the heart icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Open in Studio - This will send the lesson to your Studio area where you can edit or adapt the presentation to your individual needs.
Save to My content - If you plan to use a lesson frequently, want to organise resources into folders for lessons or units, or want to share it with others in your school, you can add it to your My content folders.
Print - The print option will allow you to print off a paper copy of the lesson, complete with teacher notes and discussion prompts.
Immersive Reader is available for each prepared lesson in Calendar Picks. This can be launched by clicking on the document icon on the right-hand side of the lesson screen.
Teacher notes for the lesson can be accessed by clicking on the page icon in the left-hand corner of the lesson screen.
The teacher notes will be displayed on the left of the main lesson screen in the 'teacher view' screen. This can be viewed while the Present page is displayed on the class whiteboard.
