Within the Discovery Education Dashboard you have access to further tools where you can create, edit and alter the Espresso resources for your individual needs.
To access these tools, open the Discovery Education menu on the left-hand side of the Discovery Education dashboard.
The tools available are Studio; Quiz and Assessment Builder.
Studio
Discovery Education Studio is a creative tool where both teachers and students can gather resources, create lessons or presentations and collaborate on projects.
Studio offers teachers and students the ability to create Boards or Slideshows or to edit existing Activity templates.
The resulting projects can be shared with any teacher or pupil in the school, making them great for collaborative activities.
Studio can be accessed and worked on from any device and photos can be uploaded from that device directly to the project - perfect for homework tasks!
To use resources from Espresso, you should save them to My Content when in Espresso and these will then be available to upload when you are working in Studio.
Take a look at What is Studio and how can I use it in my classroom? for more information about Studio.
Quiz
Our Quiz tool enables teachers to check for understanding in a fun and interctive way by building their own quiz.
There are three types of quizzes:
- Video Quiz: Teachers can embed questions in DE Video content to create quizzes, with a variety of question types.
- Standard Quiz: Teachers can create multi-format quizzes, with a variety of question types.
- Ask Live Quiz: Teachers can facilitate a live activity and just ask pupils verbal questions, with them responding from their own devices.
You can find further details about creating quizzes in Getting Started with Quiz.
Assessment Builder
Assessment Builder is a tool that allows teachers to create an assessment or test where the questions are randomised and the scores and answers are hidden from the students.
It also allows students to complete assessments over multiple sessions.
