Assessment Builder is a single tool that allows educators to randomise questions and hide scores and answers from pupils. It also allows pupils to complete assessments over multiple sessions.
Note: When assigning content to pupils, pupils must have a Discovery Education account and your classes must be set up. If you are unsure how to do either, explore this article:
Access Assessment builder
Select Assessment Builder from either navigation area on your My Homepage.
Begin your customised assessment by selecting Create Assessment, then select Practice Assessment. Follow the prompts to provide Title and Instructions, then save to one of your My Content folders.
To add questions to your assessment, select Create Item to customise your question or enter a term in Search for Items to pull from your previously created questions.
Create your customised items by selecting Create Item and following the prompts that allow you to select Single or Multiple Selection questions, enter your Question Prompt and Responses, Scoring, and optional Metadata. When you are done, select Save Draft and Add to Assessment in the upper right corner.
Find an assessment item from a bank of your previously created questions by using Search for Items. Enter your keyword and select Search. When results appear, use the filters, such as Item Types (e.g., Selected Response, Drop Down, Select Text) and Categories (e.g., Summative, Practice Formative), to narrow your findings by categories. When you find an item you want to use, select +Add to move it to your assessment.
When you are done adding items, select Assign to share with your entire class, groups of pupils, or an individual pupil. During this step, you will be able to set the start and end dates for the assessments. You can also enable features that allow pupils to save and finish assessments later and hide scores and answers from pupils.
