Resetting Student Passwords
As a Teacher, you can reset a student password by opening the Global Nav menu on the left-hand side of the screen and selecting My Classrooms, followed by Students
Locate the student's name and click on the ellipsis icon at the end of the row.
Select Reset Password
You can then choose if you would like the student to have an auto-generated password or to choose a specific password.
Auto-generated passwords
An auto-generated password will be created by the program which can then be printed and passed to the student, or communicated verbally.
Manual passwords
If a manual password is selected, you can add a password of your choice – this must be at least 5 characters long and may include letters, numbers or special characters. This can then be printed and passed to the student or communicated verbally.
As student emails are not required data for Discovery Education accounts, the email field does not need to be filled and requesting a reset password link is not possible for students.
It is also possible to reset student passwords from the My Classroom area.
Once the appropriate class has been selected, click on the Students tab:
Locate the student's name and click on the ellipsis icon at the end of the row. Choose Reset Password from the drop-down menu.
You will also have the same options if you click on the student's name and navigate to their individual student page. Then click on the ellipsis icon next to the student’s name:
School Administrators can also set or reset passwords through their Admin Dashboard, as explained in this article.
